Cub Scout Registration Checklist

Purpose:

To introduce boys and their parents to Scouting. To find future volunteers and Scout leaders.

|_| Several games/activites for boys
|_| Two adults to lead games
|_| All the Cub Scout books
|_| A boy in a Cub Scout Uniform
|_| A boy in a Webelos Uniform
|_| A Tiger Cub shirt and packet
|_| A copy of Boy's Life
|_| The Boy Scout Catalog
|_| The J. C. Penney Scouting Catalog
|_| 5 Table tent cards, reading:
  • First grade
  • Second grade
  • Third grade
  • Fourth grade
  • Fifth grade

Do:

  1. Set up a minimum of 5 tables and 20 chairs in a room near the gym.
  2. Place a tent card on each of the tables.
  3. Start a game or activity in the gym as the boys and parents arrive.
  4. Invite the parents to sit at the appropriate table.
  5. Pair parents of same-age boys as they arrive. Ask them to use the Introduction Sheet to interview each other.
  6. When all the parents have arrived, pass out the registration forms and introduce yourself.
  7. Circulate the sign-in sheet.
  8. Go around the room and ask the parents to introduce each other.
  9. Go through the Roundup Package and answer questions.
  10. Collect checks, forms, and sign-up sheets.
  11. Thank parents for coming.
  12. Give date, place and time of next meeting.
  13. Reset room and clean up gym.
